Phonics Go Fish!
This is a very simple version of phonics go fish. You will need to make a double deck of cards (you can use index cards or paper cut into pieces about the size of a card) with each card having a letter of the alphabet. For example, you will have 2 cards with an a, 2 cards with a b, 2 cards with a c, etc. This can be played with 2 or 3 players. Deal each player 6 cards and place the rest in the middle. Each player then has a turn to ask the person to right of them if they have a match to one of the cards that they have in their hand. If that person does, they give it to them and they place their pair in front of them. If they don't, the say "Go Fish" and the person has to draw a card from the middle. The winner is the one who is left with no cards in their hand. You could also have the child when they get a pair, pronounce the letter, the sound that is makes and use it in a word.
